The Cancer Conspiracy

As things have picked up for several projects that I am currently working on, I have not been able to write as much as I would like on numerous topics including health. I have had to use guest bloggers, experts and syndicated literature to inform readers; however, the issue that I wish to engage today is a very powerful one and I did not want to leave this task to anyone else. Although I believe that there are some who are capable of doing this topic justice, I believe that I have the perspective to bring the message home.
Having been so immensely impacted by cancer, I understand the monumental devastation this one disease has caused in the U.S. alone. I have lost my father, grandfather, several aunts and uncles as well as many other family members and friends to this devastating disease. Some time ago, I embarked upon a journey to understand some of the most deadly killers in America — heart disease, hypertension, cancer etc. — and what I found was all of these illness were preventable and treatable without the use of pharmaceutical grade medications.
Let’s Talk About the Facts
Many people are aware of the fact that cancer impacts the lives of many people in America, but what you may not be aware of is the actual extent of the impact that this disease has made and continues to make. Every year, more than one million Americans are diagnosed with cancer. Even more startling is the fact that one in three Americans will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime. Two out of every three diagnosed with cancer will die from the complications of the disease within five years.
These are the facts, but the truth is that they do not have to be a part of your reality. One of the first things that I learned when beginning my research on cancer was that despite the fact that it has been designated as a highly genetic and inherited disease, it is preventable, and although there are hereditary traits involved, one of the primary factors associated with the disease was dietary consumption. The foods that we eat play a major role in our health, including the development of cancer.
The Big Question
The next enigmatic issue that I had to engage after learning that there were simple ways to avoid cancer and naturally treat it was to gain an apprehension of why the world of medicine and the government was not sharing this with the average citizen. Here is why. The average cancer patient spends $50,000 annually fighting the disease, which equates to more than $50 billion in annual revenue for the medical industry — predominantly pharmaceutical companies, but also including doctors, hospitals and extended care facilities. Simply stated, there are numerous companies that are profiting from the suffering and death of cancer patients, meaning that a cure for this disease could literally make a vast portion of this industry obsolete.
The Truth about Cancer
There are multitudinous natural treatments for cancer that have been proven highly effective, but the majority of these treatments have been purposely kept under wraps by the U.S. Government and the medical industries that profit from the illnesses of Americans. In an industrial country in which medicine has made great strides there is no reason that any disease or illness should be worse than it was 100 years prior. Yet, review the following facts in order gain a lucid apprehension of the dynamic in play here.
·         In the early 1900s, one in 20 people developed cancer
·         In the 1940s, one in 16 people developed cancer
·         In the 1970s, it was one in 10
·         Today, that figure is one in three
Although some of the disparity may be contributed to misdiagnosis in the earlier years that cannot totally explain the disparity. According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), about 1.6 million cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the U.S. in 2014. At the same time, the overall death rates are falling — the only explanation is the 40-year war on cancer has been a fraud.
Cancer has become a revenue machine and this means that the powers that be have fought fiercely to quiet any news or data that speaks of cures and effective non-medical treatments for cancer. There are foods that have been outlawed in more than 160 other countries because of the dangers they pose, including the high cancer risks involved with consuming them, yet these foods are still allowed in America.
In a situation in which powerful companies lobby to control laws that allow them to remain profitable and powerful companies, those who are unaware are at risk. With the average cancer patient spending $50,000 per year on fighting the disease (Chemotherapy drugs alone can cost a cancer patient between $3,000 and $7,000 per month.), there is no way that this huge pharmaceutical complex is going to allow their cash cow to be shot in the head.
Taking Control of Your Life
The first thing that you need to do is educate yourself on the disease; ignorance on the matter will prove to be deadly. Do not allow the propaganda to paralyze you from making the decision that could save your life.
To assist you in getting started on managing your health, I have included twelve powerful steps to help you prevent cancer provided by Dr. Joseph Mercola, one of the leaders in natural health medicine in the U.S.
1.      Food Preparation: Eat at least one-third of your food raw. Avoid frying or charbroiling; boil, poach or steam your foods instead. Consider adding cancer-fighting whole foods, herbs, spices and supplements to your diet, such as broccolicurcumin and resveratrol. 2.      Carbohydrates and Sugar: Reduce or eliminate processed foods, sugar and grain-based foods from your diet. This applies to whole unprocessed organic grains as well, as they tend to rapidly break down and drive up your insulin level. The evidence is quite clear that if you want to avoid cancer, or you currently have cancer, you absolutely MUST avoid all forms of sugar, especially fructose, which feeds cancer cells and promotes their growth. Make sure your total fructose intake is around 25 grams daily, including fruit.
3.      Protein and Fat: Consider reducing your protein levels to one gram per kilogram of lean body weight. It would be unusual for most adults to need more than 100 grams of protein and most likely close to half of that amount. Replace excess protein with high-quality fats, such as organic eggs from pastured hens, high-quality meats, avocados, and coconut oil.
4.      GMOs: Avoid genetically engineered foods as they are typically treated with herbicides such as Roundup (glyphosate), and likely to be carcinogenic. A French research team that has extensively studied Roundup concluded it is toxic to human cells, and likely carcinogenic to humans. Choose fresh, organic, preferably locally grown foods.
5.      Animal-Based Omega-3 fats: Normalize your ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fats by taking a high-quality krill oil and reducing your intake of processed vegetable oils.
6.      Natural Probiotics: Optimizing your gut flora will reduce inflammation and strengthen your immune response. Researchers have found a microbe-dependent mechanism through which some cancers mount an inflammatory response that fuels their development and growth. They suggest that inhibiting inflammatory cytokines might slow cancer progression and improve the response to chemotherapy.
·         Adding naturally fermented food to your daily diet is an easy way to prevent cancer or speed recovery. You can always add a high-quality probiotic supplement as well, but naturally fermented foods are the best.
7.      Exercise: Exercise lowers insulin levels, which creates a low sugar environment that discourages the growth and spread of cancer cells. In a three-month study, exercise was found to alter immune cells into a more potent disease-fighting form in cancer survivors who had just completed chemotherapy.
·         Researchers and cancer organizations increasingly recommend making regular exercise a priority in order to reduce your risk of cancer, and help improve cancer outcomes. Research has also found evidence suggesting exercise can help trigger apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells. Ideally, your exercise program should include balance, strength, flexibility, high intensity interval training (HIIT). For help getting started, refer to my Peak Fitness Program.
8.      Vitamin D: There is scientific evidence you can decrease your risk of cancer by more than half simply by optimizing yourvitamin D levels with appropriate sun exposure. Your serum level should hold steady at 50-70 ng/ml, but if you are being treated for cancer, it should be closer to 80-90 ng/ml for optimal benefit.
·         If you take oral vitamin D and have cancer, it would be very prudent to monitor your vitamin D blood levels regularly, as well as supplementing your vitamin K2, as K2 deficiency is actually what produces the symptoms of vitamin D toxicity. 9.      Sleep: Make sure you are getting enough restorative sleep. Poor sleep can interfere with your melatonin production, which is associated with an increased risk of insulin resistance and weight gain, both of which contribute to cancer's virility.
10.  Exposure to Toxins: Reduce your exposure to environmental toxins like pesticides, herbicides, household chemical cleaners, synthetic air fresheners and toxic cosmetics.
11.  Exposure to Radiation: Limit your exposure and protect yourself from radiation produced by cell phones, towers, base stations, and Wi-Fi stations, as well as minimizing your exposure from radiation-based medical scans, including dental x-rays, CT scans, and mammograms.
12. Stress Management: Stress from all causes is a major contributor to disease. Even the CDC states that 85 percent of disease is driven by emotional factors. It is likely that stress and unresolved emotional issues may be more important than the physical ones, so make sure this is addressed. My favorite tool for resolving emotional challenges is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).
You cannot depend on the medical industry nor the government to have your best interest in focus. This means that the responsibility for your health lies solely with you. By following the 12 steps mentioned here, while continuing to educate yourself, will provide a foundation of principles that will lower your risk of getting cancer while increasing your chances of beating it if you were to contract the disease.  ~ Dr. Rick Wallace Ph.D.

Natural Ways to Fight Cancer

Cancer! The word puts fear into people's lives and thoughts. Since my father passed away from cancer, I want to help others to succeed against this disease. I don't advocate using chemotherapy or radiation, unless you feel that is the best course for you and your body. I look more to natural cures or preventative measures to keep the body healthy.
Did you know that Mother Nature manufactures many alternative treatments to help cure cancer? Unfortunately many doctors and pharmaceutical companies only want you to know about the kind that destroys the body as it tries to stop cancer. More people are looking for natural remedies that help cure and prevent cancer from happening, and doesn't harm the healthy portions of the body as it works.
Vitamins
Vitamins are becoming increasingly popular. You can see many advertisements claiming this drink or food comes enriched with vitamins to keep you healthy. With so much processing, the normal vitamins have been eliminated. Unfortunately the manufacturers have to add man-made vitamins to replace the natural vitamins taken away. Some of the vitamins that help your body fight against cancer are vitamins A, and vitamin A acid. Next are the B vitamins such as B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12. Be sure to include the vitamins C, D, E, H, and CoQ10. These vitamins help your body to detoxify, cleanse, oxygenate, alkalinize, and fight cancer and other diseases, while supporting the body as a whole.
Retine and Red Wine
Retine inhibits cancer from growing. Think of it this way, if cancer cannot grow, it cannot spread. Retine or Methylglyoxal is in several plant-based cancer treatments. You can find retine in Beta Glucan Ellagic Acid, Essiac Tea, Laetrile, MGN-3 and Paw Paw.
Red wine has an ingredient called resveratrol. This is a natural ingredient found in grapes. When you make wine, the grapes ferment and as they ferment, the resveratrol becomes more potent. But you don't have to just eat grapes or drink wine; you can find the resveratrol ingredient in other foods such as cranberries, blueberries and raspberries. France is a country that has less cancer among it's citizens. One of the reasons attributed to this is because in France they drink more red wine than other countries.
Eat Healthier
Today we are a country of heat and eat or order food from the fast food restaurants. The one word for this action is: STOP. Fast foods and convenience foods that we heat and eat have no or few nutritional value. They are high in preservatives, additives, acid, sugar, dyes, and salt. The one ingredient that cancer loves is acid, so a body high in acid is a prime target. We need to eat more natural foods like fruit and vegetables, but even that is challenging anymore. Growers and producers chemically spray many of the fruits and vegetables. Much of our food has been chemically altered. Most fruits are picked green, but to keep them fresh on the way to the grocery store across the country, they are sprayed with chemicals that cause them to ripen by the time they arrive at the store. If you can grow your own fruits and vegetables do so or purchase these things that are organically grown .
Foods to Avoid
Cancer lives on simple sugars, so if you cut out the sugar content, you will be helping to starve out cancer. Once again, too many of today's food products are loaded with simple sugars. Avoid foods that are high in sugar. Limit your consumption of soft drinks and leave any product that has sugar substitutes like aspartame and saccharine listed in the ingredient list.. Also, avoid foods with high fructose corn syrup. You can cut your risk of cancer by 93 percent by eating organic food and avoiding water treated with chlorine. In France, they ozonate their water, but the water in the United States is chemically treated with chlorine, fluoride, and other toxins to make the water drinkable. Also, when you cook, add spices such as turmeric and curcumin to your food. These are anti-inflammatory agents and they help fight cancer.
Use Ground Flax Seed
When your body's cells do not receive oxygen, the result is cancer. Eating freshly ground flax seed and cottage cheese penetrates the cancer cells and kills the cancer. So, which is better: Flax seed oil or ground flax seed? Ground flax seed is better because it allows the body to absorb Omega-3. Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid that cells need to allow oxygen to enter. Oxygen keeps cancer away.
Check Product Labels
Would you take a bottle of Formaldehyde and use it on your body? Of course not. Formaldehyde is a preservative used by undertakers to help preserve the deceased body. Yet, formaldehyde is used in many products that people use every day such as shampoos, soaps, nail polish and hair dyes. It is important to read labels on the food you eat and products you use. Chances are, if you can't pronounce the ingredient, it probably isn't good for you.

While some people think obesity is only a matter of calories, others (myself included) believe that the sources of those calories are critical too.
It is a fact that different foods affect our bodies and hormones in different ways. In this regard, a calorie is NOT a calorie.
The medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) in coconut oil can increase energy expenditure compared to the same amount of calories from longer chain fats (56).
One study found that 15-30 grams of MCTs per day increased 24 hour energy expenditure by 5%, totalling about 120 calories per day (7).
Bottom Line: The medium chain triglycerides in coconut oil have been shown to increase 24 hour energy expenditure by as much as 5%, potentially leading to significant weight loss over the long term.

4. The Lauric Acid in Coconut Oil Can Kill Bacteria, Viruses and Fungi, Helping to Stave Off Infections

When coconut oil is enzymatically digested, it also forms a monoglyceride called monolaurin.

For example, these substances have been shown to kill the bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus (a very dangerous pathogen) and the yeast Candida Albicans, a common source of yeast infections in humans (910).
Bottom Line: The fatty acids and breakdown products in coconut oil can kill harmful pathogens, potentially helping to prevent infections.

5. Coconut Oil Can Kill Your Hunger, Making You Eat Less Without Even Trying

One interesting feature of coconut oil is that it can reduce your hunger.
This may be related to the way the fatty acids in it are metabolized, because ketone bodies can have an appetite reducing effect (11).
In one study, varying amounts of medium and long chain triglycerides were fed to 6 healthy men.
The men eating the most MCTs ate 256 fewer calories per day, on average (12).
Another study in 14 healthy men discovered that those who ate the most MCTs at breakfast ate significantly fewer calories at lunch (13).
These studies were small and only done for a short period of time. If this effect were to persist over the long term, it could have a dramatic influence on body weight over a period of several years.
Bottom Line: The fatty acids in coconut oil can significantly reduce appetite, which may positively affect body weight over the long term.

6. The Fatty Acids in Coconut Oil Are Turned into Ketones, Which Can Reduce Seizures

A so-called ketogenic (very low carb, very high fat) diet is currrently being studied to treat various disorders.
The best known therapeutic application of this diet is treating drug-resistant epilepsy in children (14).
This diet involves eating very little carbohydrates and large amounts of fat, leading to greatly increased concentrations ofketone bodies in the blood.
For some reason, this diet can dramatically reduce the rate of seizures in epileptic children, even those who haven’t had success with multiple different types of drugs.
Because the MCTs in coconut oil get shipped to the liver and turned into ketone bodies, they are often used in epileptic patients to induce ketosis while allowing for a bit more carbs in the diet (1516).
Bottom Line: The MCTs in coconut oil can increase blood concentration of ketone bodies, which can help reduce seizures in epileptic children.

7. Coconut Oil Can Improve Blood Cholesterol Levels and May Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease

Coconut oil is loaded with saturated fats, which actually do not harm the blood lipid profile like previously thought.
Saturated fats raise HDL (the good) cholesterol and change the LDL cholesterol to a benign subtype (1718).
In one study in 40 women, coconut oil reduced Total and LDL cholesterol while increasing HDL compared to soybean oil (19).
There are also rat studies showing that coconut oil reduces triglycerides, total and LDL cholesterol, increases HDL and improves blood coagulation factors and antioxidant status (2021).
This improvement in cardiovascular risk factors should theoretically lead to a reduced risk of heart disease over the long term.
Bottom Line: Studies in both humans and rats show that coconut oil improves important risk factors like Total, LDL and HDL cholesterol, which may translate to a reduced risk of heart disease.

8. Coconut Oil Can Protect Hair Against Damage, Moisturize Skin and Function as Sunscreen

Coconut oil can serve various purposes that have nothing to do with eating it.
Many people are using it for cosmetic purposes and to improve the health and appearance of their skin and hair.
Studies on individuals with dry skin show that coconut oil can improve the moisture and lipid content of the skin (22).
Coconut oil can also be very protective against hair damage and one study shows effectiveness as sunscreen, blocking about 20% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays (2324)
Another application is using it like mouthwash in a process called oil pulling, which can kill some of the harmful bacteria in the mouth, improve dental health and reduce bad breath (252627).
Bottom Line: Coconut oil can be applied topically as well, studies showing it to be effective as a skin moisturizer and protecting against hair damage. It can also be used as a mild form of sunscreen and as mouthwash.

9. The Fatty Acids in Coconut Oil Can Boost Brain Function in Alzheimer’s Patients

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia worldwide and occurs primarily in elderly individuals.
In Alzheimer’s patients, there appears to be a reduced ability to use glucose for energy in certain parts of the brain.
Ketone bodies can supply energy for the brain and researchers have speculated that ketones can provide an alternative energy source for these malfunctioning cells and reduce symptoms of Alzheimer’s (28).
In one 2006 study, consumption of medium chain triglycerides lead to an immediate improvement in brain function in patients with milder forms of Alzheimer’s (29).
Other studies support these findings and medium chain triglycerides are being intensively studied as potential therapeutic agents in Alzheimer’s disease (3031).
Bottom Line: Studies show that the fatty acids in coconut oil can increase blood levels of ketone bodies, supplying energy for the brain cells of Alzheimer’s patients and relieving symptoms.

10. Coconut Oil Can Help You Lose Fat, Especially The Dangerous Fat in Your Abdominal Cavity

Given that coconut oil can reduce appetite and increase fat burning, it makes sense that it can also help youlose weight.
Coconut oil appears to be especially effective in reducing abdominal fat, which lodges in the abdominal cavity and around organs.
This is the most dangerous fat of all and is highly associated with many Western diseases.
Waist circumference is easily measured and is a great marker for the amount of fat in the abdominal cavity.
A study in 40 women with abdominal obesity, supplementing with 30 mL (1 ounce) ofcoconut oil per day lead to a significant reduction in both BMI and waist circumference in a period of 12 weeks (19).
Another study in 20 obese males noted a reduction in waist circumference of 2.86 cm (1.1 inches) after 4 weeks of 30 mL (1 ounce) of coconut oil per day (32).
This number may not seem too impressive on the surface, but be aware that these people aren’t adding exercise or restricting calories. They’re losing significant amounts of abdominal fat simply by adding coconut oil to their diet.

11. Anything Else?

If you want to enjoy the immense health benefits of coconut oil, then make sure to choose organic, virgin coconut oil… NOT the refined stuff.
This is really just the tip of the iceberg. People are using coconut oil for all sorts of things with incredible success.

The Healing Benefits of CINNAMON & HONEY: update

Since the initial posting of the Cinnamon and Honey article, it has become one of the most popular pieces on the whole website.  Besides some of the great testimonials I have received about this simple healing formuala there are some additional consideratins that have been brought to my attention.  Since I have had so many hits and some very important comments I decided to take these helpful suggestions and clarification in order to bring people more update and accurate information.  First before you start taking this, please note that all Cinnamon is not the same.  There are two types: Ceylon Cinnamon and Cassian Cinnamon.  Cassian has much higher levels of a compound called Coumarin, which can be toxic to your liver in large prolong doses, please see specifications below.  If you are taking Cinnamon daily you should take Ceylon Cinnamon which has low levels of Coumarin and won't damage your liver.
As far as honey, it is best to get raw never been heated honey.  You can find some great products at your local health food store.  But the big chain supermarkets  honey have none of the nutritional value you can get with natural raw. But even rawhoney is very high in natural sugar and should be used in moderation.  that is the key to this firmula and health in general.  The best strategy is to take a rest of one week after six weeks of use to give your body a rest... and you can come back to the formula with renewed strenghth.
Here are some other update: where it says spoonful, it is most logical to use teaspoon sizes not table spoon.
And it is best not to boil honey, it can lose it valueable enzymatic power.  Where it says boil, it means pour boiling water over honey, it does not mean boil the honey/

Here is another for the folks: CINNAMON & HONEY
Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar.  Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey. Make sure your honey is untreated, unprocessed and not heated. This will have the greatest benefit. Caution honey is a form of sugar so too much honey of any kind is not good for the body. But a little bit will help some of the following conditions.

The Cinnamon should be organic. Chinese medicine says it is warming and nourishing for the Kidneys.
 
Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists: 

 ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the  Copenhagen  University , it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it.  It destroys the germs in the bladder.

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours.  As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured.  According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.  To make it lukewarm,  place it in a small jar and let it set in warm water for awhile.

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack.

Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat.  In America and Canada,  various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

You need to pay attention to a very important fact that all cinnamon is no good. Most people do not know it. There is a lot of discussion on the internet on topics like benefits, uses, remedies etc of cinnamon. There is either no or little information about the fact that all cinnamon is not good. There is fake and real, good and bad, toxic and non-toxic! In this article, I have explained all about this and how to choose the right one.
Cassia Cinnamon
This is called cassia, Chinese or Saigon cinnamon. Some people also call it fake cinnamon. It is produced in countries such as Vietnam, China and Indonesia. It is very hot and by chewing a piece you can feel the pungent taste sizzle and flame in your mouth. It shares some of the characteristics with real cinnamon like being anti-microbial, anti-fungal, blood regulation etc. The real problem, however, with the fake cinnamon is that it has a high content of coumarin; in fact, nearly 1200 times higher than found in the real herb. Taking large amount of coumarin is highly toxic and a prolong use may pose several serious health damages.
According to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Germany, coumarin can damage liver and kidneys if taken for longer periods. In case of sensitive individuals, only a small amount can cause damage.
BfR further advises that cassia cinnamon contains high levels of coumarin and should not, therefore, be eaten.
Cassia Cinnamon is a lot cheaper than the real or Ceylon variety. Most cinnamon sold in the supermarket is the Chinese or Cassia variety.

CEYLON CINNAMON
THIS IS ALSO CALLED REAL, SWEET OR GOOD CINNAMON. IT IS PRODUCED IN SRI LANKA FROM THE PLANT CALLED CINNAMOMUM ZEYLANICUM. IT IS LIGHT BROWN IN COLOR AND THIN AND SOFT IN APPEARANCE. THE STICKS ARE FILLED LIKE A CIGAR WITH SEVERAL FOLDED LAYERS. THE AMOUNT OF COUMARIN CONTENT IS ONLY 0.0004% AGAINST 5 % FOUND IN CINNAMOMUM CASSIA.

How to Distinguish Between the Two?

In case of ground cinnamon, it is very difficult to distinguish between the two unless you are an expert, especially at sniffing spices. Howler, there is no guarantee that the result will be one hundred percent accurate. However, in case of sticks, it is easier to differentiate between the two. Most bottled or packaged ground cinnamon does not mention its type or origin. It is, therefore, difficult to ascertain its type and origin or the country or plant. The best course is to identify the sticks and make sure that you are buying the Ceylon variety. Once you get hold of the real “thing” , use your blender to crush it into powder.
